Can the Monsterverse be considered an "Epic" triogy?

No. It's not a trilogy. It's a four film universe. (so far)

Well, TECHNICALLY it's a trilogy atm. Since the fouth one hasn't come out yet, it's not a quadrilogy or quadrulogy or whatever the word is yet.

It's also technically a (Godzilla) Trilogy if you only count the movies Godzilla appears in.

Well technically he appeared in Skull Island, so that wouldn't work either. But considering that an appearance would be at least a little absolutely ridiculous

I am not sure how or why G 2014 is counted but whatever. 

Based on the OP standards, a single movie could be epic. 

Peter Jackson's King Kong checks those boxes (except for maybe super natural elements) for starters.

Just about every Godzilla movie I have seen has all those elements.
