Cool Godzilla Images/Food for Thought

AdminGodzillaMar-14-2019 11:07 AMSince the former thread sort of just became a thread for comedic memes, I regulated it to that instead. Here, will focus on rarer images and some out of context collages to bring in some relevant discussion. As so:
Elaborate lighting setups.
Spain's poster for Destroy All Monsters, entitled Invasión Extraterrestre. (Extraterrestrial Invasion)
From the Japanese trailer of Godzilla vs. Kong:
"The God of Destruction"
"Vs. the Guardian God"
Godzilla has been called The God of Destruction in marketing materials for various films including Godzilla 2000, Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Shin Godzilla, the Godzilla Anime Trilogy and now Godzilla vs. Kong. SpaceGodzilla was called the God of Destruction in trailers for Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla.
"Guardian God" is a title usually given to Mothra in various media--Now used for the Monsterverse Kong.
The thought that goes in to creating a great shot in tokusatsu. CG can get away without worrying about framing and normally creates flat shots as a result. Meanwhile, Tsuburaya Productions adheres to the basic rules of photography (the rule of thirds), staging and attention to detail in order to frame a stellar shot:
Behind-the-scenes of the Godzilla vs. Battra fight from Godzilla vs. Mothra '92. The 1991 suit from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah was used for this scene.
That Spanish poster is quite psychedelic, it's almost on par with the Soviet Star Wars posters!
Showa Mecha King Ghidorah
I like that, it would fit into the Showa, if they did it

International Women's Day
2016. 2021.
No... This was me trying to though. When I did it I didn’t feel so good. I’m still not feeling good.
expecting the worst, sets you up for thr worst
Oh, hope you feel better buddy.
so gigan really IS a robo-space-chiken.
IDW proposed a backstory for Gigan in which he was a benevolent guardian on his home planet. He protected the inhabitants of the planet which worshiped him, but in each subsequent battle against other monsters he would become more and more injured.
The planet's inhabitants would heal Gigan by adding cybernetic enhancements. The problem was with each enhancement Gigan grew more violent and addicted to the added powers. When his people would no longer provide upgrades to his body, he turned on them and exterminated them all.
Supposedly, Toho vetoed the idea.
Shame Toho scrapped that origin story idea for Gigan. Works with his personality and could have been elaborated on in the movies. Always curious why Toho makes some of the decisions they do.
