Yeah, I brought this up in other threads, and first saw it on the Spacebattles forums.
From some comments I read, it's apparently a replica of the original prop. Of course, that could be a misinterpretation. If it is, and this is a specifically-made prop for the upcoming movie.......
It'd certainly have interesting implications for the MonsterVerse at large. Thus far, no modern weapon has proven capable of really doing anything besides pissing off these M.U.T.O.s and/or potentially feeding them. But the Oxygen Destroyer? That's a completely out-of-context weapon.
Not to mention that its sci-fi undertones mean that other, more overt sci-fi elements and concepts could potentially be threaded into the MonsterVerse.
