Godzilla like creature from STAR TREK

Ahh, yes the Gorn. My favorite Star Trek Alien.

    Mr. Nimoy's passing is an utterly devestating blow to the science fiction community at large. However, he would not want us to be pained by his physical death; I strongly believe that he would want us to celebrate his life! We should honor this man for all that he has given the world - not allow ourselves to be beaten down by the death of his body. We are as eternal as the universe from which our atoms emerged countless billions of years ago! Indeed, we shall all live long and prosper. :)

I'm not really a Star Trek fan, yet I was saddened by Leonard Nimoy's passing. Still, I see a Godzilla resembelance in this.

I literally watched the episode with the Gorn captain 24 hours ago. Great episode. Heart broken over Nimoy.

^I love that episode! I love the 2012 Star Trek game with them as the main enemy. I am also heart-broken as well. I always thought that it would be a sad day when he died, but I never thought it would happen. I was shocked when it actually happened.

This is truly heart breaking news.  Even after a few days, it still hasn't sunk in.  He was one of those figures that I just assumed would be around forever, continuing to inspire and be a role model for young people and older fans who grew up with his performances.  Even though he is now physically gone, he truly WILL be around forever, continuing to inspire.  We will all miss you, Mr. Spock.

And I do love me the Gorn and his episode!  I think that may have been my first episode, in fact, and I had NO idea until later just how famous (or infamous) that episode was!  He never really reminded me of Godzilla, but he is still an iconic man-in-monster-suit creature!

If anyone here hasn't seen it, I recomend seeking out the documentary Men in Suits.  Not only does it highlight Godzilla and Ultraman (along with pretty much every iconic suitmation monster in film history), but it features an interview with the guy who played the Gorn, filmed in the same place the episode was filmed!  Great stuff!
