MUTO Parasitic Spores

I have two theories on this subject.

The spores are either:

1.  A phase in the MUTO life cycle that allows them to grow to their larger adult or nymph sizes, like how some insects lay eggs in other living organisms so the eggs can feed of the host.  In this case, once the MUTO infants have hatched after feeding on their food source used to hatch them they seek out a secondary energy source for their growth and development.

2. A for of protection for the MUTO's when their food source is low.  From what was mentioned in the movie, Giant creatures such as these were common and feed off the radiation the earth had emmited, but when this food source started to dwindle some of these creatures died while others found ways to survive.  Godzilla stayed at the lowest depths of the ocean to feed from the radiation emmited from the earth's core.  Now, the MUTOs aren't so aquatic, so they found a way to create spores somehow to leech of other sources for food, while also going into a sort of hibernative sleep so they could preserve their energy reserves until they could awaken again.

What do you guys think of these theory?

I think both parts complement one another, some organisms slow their metabolic rate while the weather and the conditions are better for reproduction and more favorables for the development of the next generation. (like some baterías, and ´´simple´´ organisms ´´ even some frogs): the term that never had sense to me is -the spore-, because that is used in small forms of life and not in vertebrates, even a cyst is a major word to be used in a vertebrate.
At the begining (as the first theory before the movie came out) the Mutos (in an early way of development) were meant to feed themselves by the corpse of Godzilla, after being inactives and waiting for the best conditions of food sources, they start with a call to attract Godzila and let a feast to the babies mutos- so they will have a near source of food (as they are feed with radiactivity surces and godzilla is the perfect source; they evolve in this way and off course is why Godzila will use all the posible weapons to beat a muto, if Godzilla do not stop them he will end as baby muto’s food.). But then we saw how the Eggs are very alive and laying down without the need of a Godzilla corpse, but still we can imagine a Godzilla minimized in his fuctions kept alive and in this way the muto would lay the eggs near of a radioactive/organic source of food.

The world will spin well past our last breath, but I will always care about you
