MemberMothra LarvaeSep-24-2014 3:26 PMWhat if the MUTOs are born as females? This may sound weird but what if the MUTOs are born as genderless? In most mammals, all babies are born as females but then are turned into males from a certain hormone that is released. What if the MUTOs are similar? Seeing as they are some of the first land animals alive, I doubt they are as complex as modern day animals. In the beggining we see that 1 MUTO (the male) hatches and goes to the Janjira plant while the female is taken to Yucca Mountains. What if all MUTOs are born as gnderless animals? When the male MUTO hatched it probably was awoken from the opening in the mine, then we see the big trench that it makes as it travels to Japan but we don't see it at all. I think all MUTOs are born in a medium sized, genderless animal that changes sex to respond to their environment. With no males in the area, the Male MUTO cacooned and then started to change into the male. Though when the female hatches, she doesn't go into a giant cacoon like the male. This suggests that the female hatched, then constantly grew until she was full grown. So how does the female turn into a female? Simple, the stimulas of the male calling out to her made a hormone kept her as a female and then she probably hatched a year or two after the male cacooned and then started to grow.
What do you guys think? This has been bugging me for a while and since there has been a few scintific topics lately, I thought now would be the best time. Feel free to debunk, elaborate, or think I'm just plain crazy. I realize there are some flaws like how did the male MUTO travel all the way to Japan. Then I ask how did the militray not detect the male in the first place?
