We did see that two direct continues hits knock the female Muto out. However the Mutos have armor and the female is pretty heavy, would this have been a one hit knock out for an unarmored monster? Would it melt their flesh? Kill them? Send them flying? Does the beam actual have an explosive power and the Muto's armor negates it like how Super-X2's Fire Mirror and Heisei Mechagodzilla's armor stops the explosive power of Heise Godzilla's rays? Can the ray be used long range or is it a medium range weapon?
Unfortunately I feel I will need to either remake or necropost and edit this topic if and when we see this ray finally hit other monster and man made structures.
Now with that being said, we did learn somethings from observations.
This incarnation's charge looks more internal and less like energy glow and more like bioluminecent. In fact the only clue that it's energy building up, initially, is the sound. The charge starts at the spikes on the tip of the tail, sounding like water or some liquid being splashed, after a while the sound changes to an electrical or mechanical sounding hum, as the sound intensifies the rest of the spikes begin to glow, traveling up the back and towards the head till Godzilla fires.
It is interesting to note that the spikes do not stop glowing as he fires unlike other incarnations and in fact some of the spikes flicker as he continuously fires. The nuclear breath is like the 1962 version in that it is not full and looks like fire or napalm. Indeed it "splashes" when it his the Muto and little particles are seeing flickering off of the ray as vapors like it's crude and not a perfectly concentrated ray like later versions.
The charge can be long or short, as Godzilla's charge was much shorter for the Kiss of Death than when he first used it on the female. Possibly it is weaker with less charge but that is hardly an issue when firing inside the unarmored insides of the Muto, destroying organs and bones with the intense heat.
I like the new charge, wish the spikes were brighter. As for the new breath itself, meh I can take it or leave, but I will give them credit for making it look different than past versions and thus giving it it's own identity.
