I just see a lot of G fans hating and disliking the way of how Max Borenstein write the recent movie of Godzilla. I was the only one who likes Max Borenstein?, well, for me, the story was incredible, the characters was decent (Hell, Joe Brody and Seriwaza was f***ing awesome) and the monster scenes was spectacular, so... why many hate?. It's a Godzilla movie
in the saga of Godzilla!, a saga where a giant dinosaur fires atomic rays and f***ing aliens come from space.

I just really want to know if there a G fan who likes the writing of Max Borensteing.

Alright guys, there are now three different topics about Max Borenstein and the same discussion is going on in all three of them. I'm giving this last one the pass, but no more.

The next topic someone makes on this exact same discussion will be locked down. You already have three different outlets to discuss this. (Which is two too many and I should be commited for allowing this many.) There will not be four. If you have an opinion on the matter post it here or these two places.

I don't hate him, but his characters were extremely weak. Joe Brody was the only good one. Elle was a destination point, Serizawa was just there for exposition for the most part, and Ford was okay but for a main character I never felt he had that much of a point, or got attached to him. The story fell pretty hard when it was handed from Joe to Ford and he had to carry it without Bryan Cranston there beside him.

DARKCHIEF - If Broenstein's work is good enough for you, then that's all that should matter! We are each autonimous living things - and are each gifted with the ability to like and dislike anything that comes under our purview! You don't need to justify what you like to me or anybody else on this site! :)

I didn't mind the writing, so I guess I'm with you.

I'll just censor those two cuss words for a minute, no need to swear on the forums.

I'm with you. I'm actually kind of shocked at how strong people dislike him! I thought his story was fine.

The thing is, everyone is knocking him for his weak characters. People aren't considering that may have not been his fault. For all we know in his mind the characters were strong in the script but Gareth Edwards, Aaron Taylor Johnson, etc. just didn't bring the characters to the screen the way Max pictured it. IMO aside from ATJ I thought the rest of the characters were fine, and when it came to story about the monsters I thought it delivered.

I have faith in him because he wasn't the single screenwriter on the first film, he was the third to come in. I'm sure Max and Gareth are both looking at what didn't work in the first film and trying to figure out how to improve it.
