which godzlla movie has the best human story

We've been here before I think, but it's probably an old topic.

Probably the original film, but a lot of the 1960s films get it right. Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, Monster Zero and Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster especially.

I like the ideas of the characters in some of the better Millennium films, but they don't come off quite as strong as those from the 60s.

Monster Zero or Terror of Mechagodzilla.

I also think Godzilla vs Biollante would be a strong contender in terms of characters it's only weakness that it has too many amazing characters and that hinders it in a way.

Godzilla Raids Again had great characters.

Gojira, GMK, and Tokyo SOS

Ah, hell what was I thinking. Terror of MechaGodzilla! Of course!

And Raids Again has some solid characters to play with, but largely doesn't do a lot with them. Kobayashi had a thing for Yamaji the whole time? I felt like that came out of left field just to make his death more tragic.

Obviously "Gojira" did, good thing Serizowa destroyed his oxygen destroyer plans so that we get unstoppable Godzilla movies lol.
