2014 Godzilla Fan-Story

I am definitely liking this idea. How about one of the characters is a Muto, that is her longtime rival?

@GOJIRA2K: I like the idea of a longtime rival Muto. How about  big Male Albino Muto called "White Fury". Because it's an Albino, the other Mutos treated it badly when he was young. As a result, this Albino Muto grew to be the most aggressive and intelligent one around... making the other Mutos now fear it. What do you think?

I love it! Now we need a Shinomura character.

And maybe an original Kaiju for the story.

@GOJIRA2K: I agree with you on both points, a new Kaiju and the Shinomura needs to be in the story. Let's see, well for the original Kaiju I have something in mind, though it does need a lot of work...

Name: ???

Species: "Climate Dragon" (don't have a good species name for it yet, if it were in the modern world this thing would represent man's futile efforts to control nature by reducing its global temperatures).

Resemblence: A long dragon serpent (the constricting kind) with great wings. It's armor is very light/weak in comparison to Godzilla or Mutos. However, it's faster in flight because it's so light, pluse it has an "Cold Field" that it can emit around itself (uses Nuclear Radiation to activate/keep going.

--As for the Shinomura, I've heard it's actually millions of smaller creatures. Maybe more like  "Collective" consciousness (like the Borg in Star Trek or something). How would you make a Shinomura as a Character?

I like the idea of a "Climate Dragon", though it needs a better name. I'll try and think of a name.

As for Shinomura, have you ever seen Pixar's Finding Nemo? In the movie there was a school of fish all acted as one creature and one talked for them all. Here is a video. Tell me what you think.

I've seen FInding Nemo! I love that movie, I can't believe I didn't think of the school of fish when considering the Shinomura character. That's a great idea! Though I doubt the Shinomura will be anywhere near as friendly as those fish.

Thanks. It would be an interesting to put him in a story. He will definitely not be as friendly. We are really getting somewhere with this story.

TRUE AMERICAN GODZILLA - This is an exceptionally interesting notion; I like the concepts behind it a great deal! As for a female ("Godzilla-ish") name, how about Kojuri? It has the same, overall quality as Godzilla's name while bearing a more feminine tone. Of course, this is simply an offer - you needn't utilize it if it isn't to your liking. TRUE AMERICAN GODZILLA - Another take on the female's name could be Kijura - something slightly more feminine than the last iteration. I do hope this at least helps to stir your imagination! :)

"Re-Imagined Anguirus" character - Fireras

Shinomura character - Shincara

Name for "Climate Dragon" species - Emiricisaurus

Name for "Climate Dragon" or "Emiricisaurus" character - Titano

Now for character bios:

Shincara - She is a black Shinomura, while the rest are a blueish color. Because of this she is cast out from the rest of her school*. She meets Kijura after she goes of on her own. When they meet Shincarawas being attacked by a pack of Male Mutos (not including White Rage). Kijura finds them and saves Shincara's life.

Titano - He is also scorned by Kijura like White Rage was. Ever since she scorned him he has been wanting revenge against her. After Kijura leaves, he follows her waiting for his chance of revenge.

*I am using the word because of a school of fish. I thought it would be appropriate.

@GOJIRA2K & CATZILLA: Wow, those are both great ideas! I think I will mix and match them both...

1: I like the name for the Re-Imagined Anguirus character, Fireras... but how about Firrarus (Sort of a combo of your name suggestion and the word Ferrari, maybe this new Anguirus has that kind of personality looks and speed... well when in ball form). I do like the idea of "Armourus" as part of its species name, an Armourus Kaiju.

2: Shincara is a decent name for the Shinomura, but what about this as a new bio? Instead of comparing it to a school of fish, what if it was more like an Air Squadron? It's infamous for breaking with natural Shinomura tradition (birth defect on the "leader" part) but famous later on. Traditionally Shinomuras used members of their own clan to be the giant Kaiju form. Shincara combined a few clans together to form a "Super Shinomura". This was in response to Kijura's family trying to wipe out the species, leaving Shincara's combined clans and a few stragglers out hiding (to be seen later in that graphic novel Awakening). Shincara wants to "even the score" and make the region "safe" when all Godzillas are gone.

3: I like Calemicus as the name for the "Climate Dragon". You got me curious about names and tried looking up japan to english names. Climate is kishou, kikou, fuudo, kikou while Dragon is doragon. How about the species be called "Kishou Doragon"?

4: Say Calemicus, White Rage, and Shincara eventually all meet together and upon hearing the same type desire to ride the world of the Godzillas (starting with Kijura) they team up! Inspired from a real WW2 story (as seen in the series "Dogfights" called "long odds") where it's 1-vs-3 and it looked quite bad for that 1! In this case, it's Kijura vs Calemicus, White Rage, and Shincara!

Yeah those are much better names. And at the end battle it should 2-vs-3, because of Firrarus,  he would probably help her.

If we were going by part of my bio for Shincara, Would Kijura still save her life? Because what if Shincara turns against Calemicus and White Rage, paying off a debt to Kijura for saving her life? Then she vows to rid the world of Godzillas, leading to a sequel?

@GOJIRA2K: Good point about Firrarus, in fact it might be a 3-vs-3 considering if Gojoro is with them also. Hmm, that's a good question. However, because the personallity has changed from the original idea (cuppled with the fact her species are like the Mutos, views as parasites to the Godzillas) I don't think the Shincara would rescue her. Now we could add the "Kijura saving someone's life early on" to Firrarus' story line. Say the two species normally competed for the Natural Nuclear Reactors (as the main time they fought each other). Kijura's very first friend was Firrarus, so she saved him from her parents (and vice versa).

Heh heh heh... White Rage. When I hear that name, all I can think of is White Power Bill.

Who is  Gojoro? I don't think we discussed him.

The saving Firrarus idea is a better one. It would fit well with their friendship.

Here's a short intro to Gojoro...

Male Godzilla/"Prince"; Name---Gojoro (met later in the story, Female is attracted to this male. He has a good/noble personallity).

Okay, that's who Gojoro is. Yeah they should all be in a 3-vs-3 battle. That would be so cool! Maybe we should have a predominant "Re-Imagined Zilla" character. Kind of like a comic relief character, but better.

@GOJIRA2K: I like the idea of a "comic relief" character. At first I thought it should be partly Firrarus, but the "Re-Imagined Zilla" thrown into the mix would create more comical moments.  How about a juveline female, saw with a moon shaped birth mark... thus earning the nickname "Little Luna"?

Perfect! Do you think we need anymore characters?

I know we will need some minor characters, but those we can figure out as the overall story unfolds. Another question, how would these characters "talk" to each other? In Raptor Red (that focused on Utahraptors and other dinosaurs) you the reader knew what they were thinking of. However, these are animals. From the movie novelization, Godzilla seems very intelligent by comparison. Would the Godzilla species, and the other main species in the story, be "smart enough" to talk to one another or have the desire for "revenge"?

I think they are smart enough to. If they didn't, we wouldn't have a story.

@GOJIRA2K: From reading the movie novelization, I get the sense I made them have too much of a human personality (well, at least for the non-Godzilla species). I haven't seen the official movie so I can't truely gauge their intelligence/behavior (as the novel I suspect doesn't fully capture the whole fight scenes as much).

I do have an interesting, and funny, alternate idea... we change the premise of this story to be "as if" it were a cartoon series. You know, write the stories more like it were a cartoon episode(s). The show could teach aspects of nature (the 2014 Godzilla theme) and good morals, plus having the characters with that 'human-like' personality readers/kids could better relate and appreciate their world.
