Gareth Edwards will DIrect Star Wars Spinoff Film!

Found this (and having issues creating posts, so sent Chris a message about it) - the same story more or less, but it reads as follows:

"ME-repped Edwards is attached to direct Godzilla 2 and 3..."

...A trilogy you say?!

Obviously not sure how legitimate this is, but still. Interesting news nonetheless!

Cool? I don't even...

I hope this doesn't mean godzilla 2 will be delayed/rushed to make room for Star Wars. This could be bad news.

It means no Godzilla 2 for 4 years


Star wars isnt going to release till the END of 2016,which means Gareth will not work on other projects until thats released and hes done promoting it.

Once hes done and that movies out, it will be 2017,then he will go and start prepping for the sequel to Godzilla to start filming.

They will NOT be able to film the entire movie in 2017 AND get it out the same year.

They will film in 2017, as well as give a teaser in 2017, then in 2018 is where you will see the trailers and the release of Godzilla 2

I just read this in Variety.  I'm glad for G.E.  I hope he does well.  Now, Warner Bros will have to decide whether they want to wait for the G.E., or if they want to proceed with the sequel with another director. 

I'm hoping for another director.

Cool ... To tell you guys the truth ... i am happy that godzilla 2 is being made late ......... that way they dont have to rush things which likely happended to this godzilla ... Even for Pacific Rim 2 thomas tull said that he would not rush it because they totally want to get things right about it before they start... i am really happy about both the news
