The reviews are pouring in, and I have yet to see a positve one. The MSN homepage has a new, short review that doesn't necessarily portray the film in a negative light, but does call out Godzilla's lack of screen time.
Check it out here:

I know I should't give a rat's furry behind what other people think (heck, I've been putting up with people hating on Godzilla my entire life), but all these negative reviews are really starting to tick me off. But I figured I'd share anyway.

I liked the movie, and we finally got an American version that actually featured Godzilla, but then the director is coy about showing him! It was maddening to me how many times something cool is getting going and it's like, oh, let's cut over to see what Ford's up to! NO!!! Let's see what the title character is up to; the character people actually came to see. It was frustrating. The end battle was cool, but they should have had a couple of other Godzilla payoff scenes earlier. The '64 Mothra Vs. Godzilla has five such "payoff" scenes; each one stands out and is cool, and that movie is like 90 minutes!
Look, it did very well last night and I'm hoping it's a success and they make more, but they need to learn from what didn't work in this one.
