Godzilla 2014
MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 3:15 AMI'm starting to see a little bit too much of the movie (though I didn't watch the 5 clips and the b roll footage because I didn't want to spoil myself), did you watch all the trailers and tell me if you're feeling that you are seeing to much.
Tell me your thoughts.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 4:46 AMSince I'm a video editor, I've calculated how much they've given us. From every single trailers, clips and TV spot that's been released since the Asia trailer, it was nearly 8 minutes total. Now it's perhaps 11. So if you've seen everything they've shown, you got yourself 1/12th of the whole movie.
This might not be a problem considering the fact that the plot is vague. If you think it is, the suspense of the movie will still be there, but if you try to piece all of it together with every single detail that's leaked (Such as the soundtrack list) then you're definately going to feel spoiled.
I personally have seen all 11 minutes, and I am worried, but the best thing so far is: They have not yet shown anything really important such as the fights, the climax or the atomic breath. So all those will still be completely new to behold.
The bad part is, you'll feel like you can piece the whole movie together too easily. I don't like this as I want to be very wrong of my personal assumptions in order to make the movie with less predictability.
I really want to see the movie and say "You've seen nothing yet."

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 5:06 AMWell, No one can say yet, whether we've seen too much, because we just don't know how much more is there to see. As THE WEAVER said, we haven't seen the atomic breath or any fights, We haven't even really seen the other 8-leg muto.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 5:39 AMOh yes! Thank you THE WEAVER, I was wondering how much footage we had seen! I've only watched two clips and not the B-roll footage but I have seen all the trailers and tv spots. I don't think we have seen too much but if anything more is released even though I don't think there will I won't be watching it for sure! Hope this helps.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 7:36 AMa bit, but part of it would be the fault of our own for actually watching it

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 9:34 AMThe Weaver says that the total amount of actual footage shown in ads is around 8-11 minutes. In contrast, people analysing the footage shown in ads for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 say that they showed, at the very least, 25 minutes from that film. Even if you take into account the latter movie's longer running time, that's a larger proportion of footage than for Godzilla; Godzilla has shown around 9% of its 123 minutes of footage, while The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has shown around 18% of its 142 minutes of footage.
And that's not taking into account what gets shown: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 showed a large portion of its major plot points and action scenes, whereas Godzilla has barely gone into details concerning its plot and has shown only the faintest of faint glimpses of the monster fights (i.e. the meat-and-potatoes parts of the film).

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-05-2014 10:06 AMI decided after watching the new 5 released scenes (and finally the Fiat commercial xD) that I don't want to know new spoilers or footage. Maybe I spoiled myself to much (wondercon footage, leaked script, all spots, trailers, interviews) and I know more than enough of this film. I love getting surprised in films and I expect that Godzilla will have some epic specials I don't know yet, but it feels a little bit that it's enough now.
In my time zone (middle europe) it's 7 PM now and in exactly 10 d 00 h 00 m on 15th I will finally watch it at the premiere and will know everything about it, so I am leaning back now ignoring all Godzilla channels on youtube if there is more new stuff what I don't believe.
