Something Real
MemberGodzillaApr 25, 20141782 Views9 RepliesHello there. After a while of poring over the new information that's been flowing almost non-stop into the site, I've formulated a simple question. In the wake of Godzilla and the MUTOs' uprising and subsequent conflict, what will the toll come to? How much damage is going to have befallen mankind in the midst of what will likely be a catastrophic series of battles between multiple titanic and extremely aggressive creatures? Additionally, how many lives are likely to be lost amidst the ruination and upheval? As always, your thoughts and conjecture are greatly appreciated, even if you choose to keep them to yourself. :)

I've actually thought about this quite a bit and I believe that the biggest loss of life and damage to the environment will be due to humanity's desperation to end these creatures! Nuclear bombs being dropped in a last ditch effort onto heavily populated areas or something of the like. There just my thoughts and speculation!
How far can we push nature before it pushes back?

EVAN123 - Now THAT is a very interesting and feasible notion. Indeed, I could very easily see Mankind causing immense damage in an effort to destory Godzilla and the MUTO organisms. That's a very neat premise you've presented! I hadn't thought about that! :)

No, it is highly unlikely they would try to use nuclear bombs against the kaijus considering that nearly 50 of them were used against Godzilla during the Pacific Proving Grounds to no vail. You can read more about it here: The Marshall War
The death toll would be immense if cities population are not evacuated in time while these monsters hit cities across the world. One thing's almost certain, hundreds of thousands of lives will die in this Godzilla movie.

Ya, I know it's just do you truly believe that humanity has learned it's lesson? I'm sure there would be some high ranking individuals who still think a nuclear bomb could decimate these animals! And we haven't seen it yet so we don't know and as I said it was only speculation!

I don't think humanity will be on the edge of extinction but I do think the world as we know it will end when the dust and ash settles. Humans would be forced into a new way of life, forever living in fear of the return of giant creatures. The chaos that unravels in this film is likely the introduction to something far worse. Governments will no doubt envy Godzilla's power and try to overcome him through science or other means. Perhaps this will eventually lead to the earliest foundations of a G-Force like corporation, or perhaps not. Either way humans will need to be ready for a future encounter with the Kaiju and whatever choices thay make in preperation for whats to come will ultimately translate into what or who remains standing in the end. And as for the death toll - I'm sure they've lost count.

Love the topic SOMETHING REAL. If I had my way, virtually nothing would be left other than maybe Jessica Alba and myself. But realistically, to KAGE432's point, I think what's even more interesting is what changes to the environment will humanity have to endure in the aftermath of this fight. Between the radiation of Godzilla's breath and the MUTOs seem to have some sort of effect on electricity or the atmosphere. Hard to tell. They have done a great job keep the plot safe.
As far as death toll. I can see a million or so. Godzilla is going to show up in SF with a whole lot of people not being evacuated. If he uses his breath in the city then that could easily wipe out huge numbers from the aftermath alone. To earlier topics, there is some connection to nature these monsters have so the entire world could get a makeover. If this were only to happen for real!

The number of deaths will be unfathomable. The destruction will be nearing an apocalyptic level.
I have no idea really. Just musing.
Deviation is not shameful. Conforming is.

These are all exceptionally fascinating answers! I'm certainly glad you each found this topic to be to your liking. Thank you so very much for your thoughts! :)

well if you ask me at the end of the movie or at least close to it when we see the halo jumpers jump out of the plane all the smoke is coming from the city which to me very well could be the sea of fire that godzilla has done to the city while fighting the muto monster using his atomic breath attack, also the destruction is going to be catastrophic this movie is going to be insane from beginning to end. :)
