MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 2:29 PMTo get on with the point, I really dislike Cloverfield. I always have, and I always will. That being said, I've found that I'm more and more disappointed with the MUTOs lately. Don't get me wrong, the Eight-legged design was really awesome to me. I like the spider-like look and hooked claws, and all in all it just looks like a cool monster.
The reason I'm disappointed is because the MUTO doesn't look totally like Clover, but resembles it quite a bit, and I didn't used to mind that very much until (much to my displeasure) I saw the pictures of the winged MUTO toy and was devastated that the two monsters look EXACTLY THE SAME. And since the first MUTO, as I said, resembles Clover I was even more disappointed. Let alone I have no IDEA how Thorsten got MOTHRA out of this.
Now I know that we've been putting words into Legendary's mouth, but I was under the impression that there was more than one monster in this movie. I've seen websites say that Godzilla would fight at least two monsters, and I can't help but be let down that there's pretty much only one monster type. But I guess that counts as 'at least two monsters'.
So the point is, I have seen no evidence of there being any monsters in this movie besides Godzilla and the two MUTOs we saw along with maybe some smaller ones, so I'm inviting everyone to share their ideas and evidence about more than just one type of monster- I want to be wrong, and I really don't want those to be the only ones- so please, feel free to share.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 3:26 PMThis isn't really "evidence" per say, but the description on the leaked giant Godzilla toy says that Godzilla is driven out of the ocean by an ancient foe that threatens his life. This monster, of course, would have to be aquatic in order to drive Godzilla out of the ocean, and the MUTOs we have seen don't exactly look aquatic, now do they? It seems likely to me that the eight-legged and winged MUTOs will emerge from an underground cave system in the Nevada desert, while another, much more powerful monster will emerge from the ocean later in the film, chasing after Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 3:31 PMWell, as I said, I didn't only mean evidence, I also meant ideas.
Anyway, yes, that's a good point. Thanks. :)

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 4:00 PMWhat happened to the multi legged millipede from the first trailer? If he's still in it that makes 3 and the thing that attacks the train, thats grey so in maybe be a different monster to the leaked flying MUTO.

That's what I want to believe. I want to believe that there's the train MUTO along with the one in the first trailer and the MUTOs we know about. I just hope at some point we get something that points to at least one of these monsters being in the movie, because as I said, I like the MUTO design but I wanted there to be at least one monster different from it.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 4:56 PMI am disappointed too but in the end, we haven't seen the MUTO's design on-screen. We have only seen the toys. The MUTO's in the movie could look a lot different to the toys. The toys are always inaccurate. Just like the scene in the trailer where you see the big MUTO leg come down and smash the ground, wasn't the leg grey in colour? The toys are black. It could be different. And at the moment no one really has evidence of any other monsters. We just know that there are 2 monsters. A land MUTO and a flying MUTO.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 5:01 PMYeah, I noticed from the terrible lack of replies, haha. XD

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 7:15 PMYeah, I would be a little disappointed if there is only 1 muto but the 1st trailer showed us an 8 leg muto and the 2nd trailer with a muto that has legs that curve and is black, so we can assume there's more then 1 muto in the film but again we can be wrong. The movie still looks awesome and I believe it will not disappoint but again that's me.

Statzman44
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 7:24 PMI mean't to say an 8 leg muto that had 3 fingers on all of them and the other muto that had legs that bent with no fingers and that it is black and other one isn't. So either there are at least 2 muto's in the film or they messed up an edited out for the 2nd trailer or we can take these 2 trailers and let them tease us like they should. True trailers aren't mean't to be revealing to much but to keep us curious.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 7:26 PMIf you reveal to much then the movie will be spoiled for us and that's no fun.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-09-2014 7:43 AMAm I the only one who has no problems with this movie except the fact that gravyzilla is stating that two godzilla's will rape eachother at the halo jump scene?

I just don't like Cloverfield, so I don't want the MUTOs to look like the monster. However, I've seen more and more of the MUTO designs and to be honest, I'm starting to like them a lot more and they don't resemble Clover as much as I used to think. That being said, I can't think of any other issues I have with the movie. Except, well, Godzilla could have been bigger than 350 feet. But I can except that.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-10-2014 1:47 AMYeah now that I think of it Godzilla isn't as big as I wanted him to be. I wanted him to be like 250 meters tall but overall I live to see this movie and enjoy it.
