MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-28-2014 8:46 AMI remember when Mr.Gigan came out and told us the #2 trailer and a few people believe you. must have sucked to be you at the time. But Im here to say that if there was an early screening of Godzilla than why hasn't it been rated? The "Slash" seen it, then why hasn't the cridects seen and rated the film?
But when it shows an early screening "again" ( I dont think he really saw it) I think Empire Magazine would since they have such a close partnering with Legendary of film.
Now moving on to you, 1 do you think Slash saw an early screening and 2 do you think that Empirer would be the first to see it.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-28-2014 10:31 AM...Oi.
Do you really think that studios aren't allowed to screen their film to random members of the public before it gets rated?
The movie has already, more than likely been seen by the ratings board several times and they are deliberating a rating for it as we speak, if they haven't already. They have like, ya know, hundreds and hundreds of movies to go through.
I don't expect everyone to be a film buff like me, or understand completely how the industry works but... use some common sense.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-28-2014 11:09 AMIf I might barge in.
Being a film buff as well as working at a cinema as well as knowing many people in the film/critic industry I can say with full confidence that it is absolutely not THAT easy to get a private screening for critics or anyone special. Especially for an FX type of film like Godzilla that will finish its touch-ups maybe a couple of weeks before it releases. For a film like this that is expected so highly, it will not be shown with sub-par FX/choppily spliced footage to failure-hungry critics.
Production companies will not only wait for weeks before the release dates to finish touch-ups, but they will show private draft screenings to audiences that can totally change the face of the film. You have to take a survey about the film after seeing the private screenings- what you liked, didn't like, articulate the attitude of the characters etc.. And the production companies will take what the audience has to say and splice the film to the audience's reactions, likes, dislikes etc. That doesnt happen with every film, and I'm not saying it happens with Godzilla- but to say that movies are done and dusted MONTHS before its release and are shown to weakness-seeking critics is so incredibly outrageous.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-28-2014 11:31 AMi just read your question properly, i can say i am skeptical about that however they have shown some footage in a Screening here in the UK, you can look it up, you got posts from The Daily Telegraph, Den of Geeks, Digital Spy UK and many more (WARNING: Some Previews may contain SPOILERS)

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-28-2014 5:03 PMYou're wrong MECHA G, it always sucks to be me! Ha, but there have been a variety of early showings, including how some lucky people got to see 5 whole scenes recently.
