MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 4:39 PMI find it very unlikely that Godzilla will die in this movie, but then find it very likely that Gareth and Legendary are already planning a sequel.
So you guys remember those interviews when Gareth gets asked if he was ever to do a sequel and what would he put in there? And he makes an excuse that if he was ever to make a sequel he'll make it a Monster Island related concept?
Well what if its not just an excuse answer he gives when he gets asked that question? And yes, it is likely he would have to make an excuse answer for anyone who would ask him that question, but how does he have that answer right away already if he was never even planning a sequel?
U get what I mean? If he was never even planning a sequal, then how does he already think of a wonderful sequel idea like that right away and before the movie? Usually when people arnt planning sequals they dont just think of a sequel idea for fun.
So what Im saying is that maybe Gareth is still keeping it real secretive and there probably will be a sequel of the Monster Island as Godzilla probably wont die in the new movie.
What u guys think? Agree or just one movie for us g fans when we should have more lol

Yes they do. All the time. He was just mentioning a possible idea. I wouldn't look into it too far.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 5:00 PMWell, I've got no real proof or anything but........ With a tag line like "The world ends and Godzilla begins" youd think this was the launch of a new Godzilla franchise...just sayin

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 5:50 PMLol ok guys I was in a rush writing this topic and couldnt include anymore so GMAN2887 yeah its true, I suppose some do just think a little of a sequel idea for fun sometimes, but mostly I believe directors and those people already thought of their ideas because their movie is capable of leading to another part.
U get what I mean, like you know how theres movies out there that dont have sequels, and just to assume, some directors or story scripters didnt really make a sequel idea for fun because there movie is an ABSOLUTE conclusion that doesnt lead to anything.
So I believe the new Godzilla movie wont have an ABSOLUTE conclusion yet and yes I do believe in a sequel to happen.
BAVOC Yeaahhhhh good find, Godzilla begins you know, and cmon we all know Godzilla cant just have one movie when made lol Godzilla's never meant for only ONE movie cuz has had 28 movies and I dont expect Legendary to just make a single Godzilla movie for a REBOOT.
Yeah, I highlighted REBOOT because reboot means something like a remake of a series, and a series should idk never be remade to only ONE movie. So sequels for Godzilla I believe

AdminGodzillaFeb-06-2014 6:12 PMHard to tell how Edwards is approaching it at this point. Some directors have a whole slew of ideas planned out, others don't even think about their next movie until their current one is finished.
Take Christopher Nolan, for example. When he did Batman Begins he didn't think he'd be doing a sequel. He had no ideas planned and the Joker card at the end of the movie was nothing more than a friendly nod to the fans. At most, he thought someone else might take over the sequel. But when it was over he was focused on The Prestige and The Prestige only. Even while he was filming The Dark Knight he didn't think he would be doing another Batman movie. He thought that would be the last for him as well.
Even Michael Bay has that attitude for the Transformers movies. He ended the first movie with Megatron's death and wrapped everything up in that movie's story. Sure, there's always the hope that these movies will be successful and spawn sequels, but that doesn't always mean director's are planning ahead. In a lot of cases director's don't even think they'll be back for a sequel.
Now there are exceptions... Marc Webb had The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 3 planned out when he was working on the first one. Things may change if the new one flops (unlikely) or if Sony wants to go a different direction and not ask him back (also unlikely), but he's planned it out for better or for worse.
The point is there are probably more exceptions than rules when it comes to directors planning ahead. I don't think Edwards has a plan for sequels, personally. He strikes me as a person who remains focused on the project he's working on and if a sequel happens he'll worry about it then. In truth, the movies that follow that kind of work ethic end up being better films. Stories that are planned ahead over a span of several movies tend to be weaker: The Star Wars prequels, the first two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels and so far the Amazing Spider-Man movies aren't winning me over either...

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 6:23 PMLol the Transformers sequels are excuses for more money, and I do hope godzilla doesnt turn that direction if it ever gets sequels you know, making an unnecissary sequel just for more money.
Which wont happen I believe, and I get what ur saying, ur right, Edwards should just focus on the main project and then think on to the second project after

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 6:59 PMNo one can tell for sure if there will be more movies or not, Edwards wants to reboot the series but that's all up to how well this movie does, if Legendary wants to do more, and if Toho will allow it.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 7:57 PMFrom pre production to post production a film can take a couple years to make, I have no doubt Edwards has even a full trilogy mapped out and Legendary is immediately going to push forward with the series if it brings in the numbers but that of course is the deciding factor.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-07-2014 8:02 PMDRAGONLORD TEVIN, you're not thinking on this very much are you?
Gareth Edwards is a fan of Godzilla, and he'll have created a LOT of ideas on different kinds of movies he'd dream of making about the Big-G. How many movie ideas do you have floating around in your head that you thought up right away after watching one of the movies? I'll bet you have quite a lot, even if you're not willing to admit to it since I pointed it out like this.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the fact that great ideas inspire further ideas.
Godzilla's iconic status and his rich history in films have given millions of fans ideas for books, games, movies, and more. Do all of them become realized? Not at all, but they're out there regardless.
That post I made about a designing a Godzilla game was comprised of information I thought of on the spot after reading about another individual on this site posting about a similar idea. I took the concepts that I introduced to fuel their creative process, and decided to take things a step further. Every idea that I posted in that thread was off the top of my head as I wrote the thread itself. And it only took me about ten minutes to think of it all after reading someone else's comments about a possible game idea.
It doesn't take much, and Gareth's desire to create a Monster Island based movie was probably swimming around in his head before he even accepted the job from Legendary. Dreams don't always become reality, but they exist regardless. Do you think movies are made from whims? No, they're made from dreams which exist long before they're ever put to film.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-08-2014 9:57 PMKYERO.... shut up
Now imma give you a hint on why your post made absolutely no sense and was totally useless: I wrote "what if" and "maybe" in my topic.
Now figure it out
