MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 10:02 PMOver the past months of mysteries from Gareth Edwards and the team at Legendary, its safe to say that he's done his best to keep material under wraps until late reveals such as trailers, behind the scenese, extras, ect. But in September, the official Comic Con 2012 trailer was released online and was taken down within hours of release. Then in December, we got our first glimpse of Godzilla himself in the official 2 minute teaser. We thought we saw everything.. but everything is not what it seems. After Ford (Aron Taylor Johnnson) points his M4 down to the ground, the scene of the train splitting in two can be seen. What's so special about this scene? Nothing at first, Just another train getting destoyed by Godzilla or whatever again. Or is it?
Did Gareth play with our heads or did he just reveal the M.U.T.O creature head or one of them? Take a look for yourself at this screenshot taken from my phone. Could this just be an illusion or an actual reveal too fast for human eyes to catch.
Okay since I can't post actual pictures on here for whatever reason I'm going to post the link to the video I found this from. Hope you all enjoy!

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 10:37 PMGareth Edwards doesn't control what goes on with the trailers. That's the marketing team at WB, I believe.
We've already known that the muto is in that trailer, but I wouldn't necessarily say it was "revealed". I'd say it was more teased than anything.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 10:39 PMI believe Gareth does help a little in the trailers, u know, to direct the marketers of wat carefully to put in the trailers

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-05-2014 10:48 PMNope. lol He can tell them that he filmed a certain clip that he really did mostly for the trailer.. however, it's really up to the marketing team. They can ignore him. He really has no say whatsoever when it comes to how the trailers are made, much less how the movie is marketed.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 1:02 AMI already picked up on the MUTO being in the trailer the first time I watched it. Anyway it does look awesome and I can't wait to see their full appearance :D

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 11:42 AMI've told people this a thousand times and they still don't get it.
The trailer is unclear about what it is showing.
There are no eyes, I know because I've checked on my 1080p copy at full brightness and color and did everything I could to adjust it so I could see perfectly what was going on literally frame by frame.
There are no eyes in that shot, only a long and sharp part of the MUTO's body ripping the train apart. It could be a leg, an arm, a claw, or anything at this point. The fleshy patch doesn't actually confirm anything regarding what part of its body it is. For all we know it's webbing in between claws or something.
The MUTO's body has not been glimpsed in full, nor has its face in any way. The whole "eye" bit is nothing but a trick of the lighting, as even with full brightness and full color and a bit of extra contrast, I saw nothing beneath that tiny "eye" shadow mark. Just more flesh. No eyeshine, no pupils, nothing.
If you want to see the MUTO's and if you want to know exactly what that trailer is depicting, you'll have to wait like everyone else to find out what it is for a fact rather than jumping on random speculative bandwagons. That's always a mistake.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-06-2014 4:26 PMAs much as I hate saying this, ill have to agree with you KYERO but only about the MUTO"S eye thingy.
Guys where do you see the eye? Ive studied the shot tons of times too and I see no damn eye. Dont mistaken something because of the shape or lighting.
All I see is some purple thing where you all think its the gum of the MUTO's mouth, as when I thought its a tongue but nobody's sure yet. And can someone please snapshot a pic of the train wrecking scene and CIRCLE the eye so you can prove that there was an eye?

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-08-2014 4:07 AMAnyone notice what looks to be another part of the Muto or maybe just another Muto altogether in the train scene?
The middle window on the right side, look at the middle to top section of it. There appears to be spike, claw, pointy object, something. I could be seeing things and/or it could be a part of the train rail system. But just looks kinda strange to me...
