MemberMothra LarvaeJan-07-2014 1:35 PMI have been watching the new movie info for over a year now, and I'm not particularly impressed. I fail to see why studios like Legendary find it necessary to mess with a familiar franchise. So far, the G14 movie looks like a slightly modified rehash of the 98 flop. Godzilla looks totally out of propoprtion and just doesn't look like Gojira/Godzilla. His head just looks like an extensuion of his neck and the face is all off. At least they were smart enough to keep the roar. Re-imagining is the crutch for those with no creativity of their own.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-07-2014 2:42 PMI never think of zilla when I see this one, and its suppose to make the 1998 film completely forggetable and in order to do that is to not use any elements from zilla.
and if you really were watching the movie info for over a year, you should notice that his full body is not 100% revealed to us yet, best evidence that we all had so far is the official toy that we've all seen and it looks very like Godzilla and I hardly see anything out of proportion from that small figure.
either you are trolling or just reacting prematurly Just saying.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-07-2014 4:25 PMNot sure if this is a troll post or not, considering that some people really do think this. However, even then, this post is extremely cringe-inducing. The reason for why this reboot(not remake) is being made is pretty obvious: To show the majority of the public what the original Gojira stood for (a reminder of mankind's mistakes in science and nature).
1. How does it look anything like 1998? Just because there's a scene that has rain in it? Everything, from the quality of the actors to the cinemotagraphy, not only looks drastically different from 98, but also a lot better.
2. How can you already tell that the "face is all off" when we don't see it at all in the trailer? Shit, we barely see his body in the aerial scene, and the pan up shot at the end of the trailer was merely a silhouette. And in that silhouette, we can see that there is a clear change between Godzilla's neck and his cranium.
You're either a really bitter,cranky,and/or old G fan, or in the most likely case, a troll who's trying to get a rise out of people. And that didn't really work, seeing as the most you got out of me was me thinking that this was a really uneducated observation of a film that we've seen a couple of production shots of and one teaser. Might as well delete this discussion post, seeing as how the G fans that DO get angry over this sort of thing will be coming in hordes.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-07-2014 5:46 PMyou have 4 months to get used to the idea of a Godzilla with that design, I recommend you do it, because they will not change the design.

MemberBaragonJan-07-2014 5:55 PMThis might be troll post or might not be, but if this is your honest opinion, whats wrong with it? If you don't like the design, DONT WATCH THE MOVIE. If you ask me, that design is spot on. It might not be the same as the original, but it is comparable to other designs. This specific design trumps all the others because of its REALISM.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-08-2014 1:15 AMThis Godzilla looks nothing like Zilla, sure you may have some resemblance but that's because both were created via CGI instead of suit's like TOHO formerly has done. Toho wouldn't allow America to do that again, that's why Toho renamed the american Godzilla to Zilla. They will not allow us to use the name Godzilla if it's not actually Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-08-2014 5:59 AMSorry you're not impressed dude, if that's how you really feel...I also think that this is just a matter of trust towards an american studio and you're obviously more than disappointed with the last attempt, but it was a film that got me to be a g-fan in the first place and led me to the REAL godzilla...even more awesome cause I'm half-japanese...
sooo maybe, if you can, think about it that way positively. If you don't wanna watch it and honor the classics--no problem, please just do try then, not to sway others already in for the ride..
