MemberMothra LarvaeDec-30-2013 12:27 PMI have worried and worried that like in Americas '98 film that in the end Godzilla is going to die, i feel like this Godizlla is very big and very powerful and it would really piss me off if they decided to kill him because that would almost make it a complete remake of the 1954 Godzilla....so what do you all think?
From what I believe GARETH EDWARDS has already informed us that Godzilla will not die or get killed in the film. So I wouldn't worry, this will be the start of many great Godzilla films & series to come my friend ;)
It's possible they'll go the route of the original movie and kill him at the end with some sort of fictional super technology.
As the Toho Godzilla will prove, killing off the title will not stop it from making sequels.
Well, if anything there could be Two Godzillas and one is younger so if they kill him the baby/teenage one who isnt as big will wake up. i can see that.
i think no, heres why;
1. the only reason they killed of gojira in the origional was because they were not anticipating a sequel.
2. this godzilla is supposed to darker and in that case we won't be seeing a triumphant military and the world celebrating or anything like that.
3. this new godzilla represents natures power and is basically unstoppable, he puts man in his place. if man killed him, it just wouldn't work well with that.
if anything there will be a point in the movie were he is thought to be dead but then reapears even angrier and more dangerous, and shocks the world

GODZILLA_HIMSELF have you thought that the end trailer scene is the last scene, they bomb him start chearing and then hes like NAH IM STILL HERE and he roars and then it ends? (rthe movie)
NOTE: HUGE SPOILERS HERE. DONT READ IF YOU WONT TAKE THE RISK.
He will not die. They bomb him, but he survives. But it doesnt end like that, dont worry. With the M.U.T.O creatures gone, Godzilla "goes exploring this new world". That means he`ll simply go into the ocean and disappear for now.
Thats what i thought after watching this guys prediction video and he metioned that the end trailer scene could be the end of the movie.
i think that the end of the trailer is somewerre in the last half of the film, but not quite the end, of course i wouldn't really mind that.
king of the monsters
^I don't know about his spines, but I do know light shines through his gills on the sides of his neck when he fires his atomic ray.
And no, I'm not going to tell anyone how I know this. You'll just have to wait and see that I'm right. ;)
@Godzilla_Himself,
I don't think that's the halfway point, that seems like the climax. In a lot of stories there's a point where the protagonists face such an insurmountable opponent that they have no choice but to make one last drastic stand. For Star Wars, it was the Rebels taking a dozen X-Wings to stop the Death Star. In this film, it's a dozen paratroopers to take out Godzilla. I don't think they'd jump in their unless it was their very last desperate option.
@Duratox
I think the marines are going in to try and save that japaneese guy, his name escapes my mind. or they are going to put a target beacon on Godzilla to mark him for a nuke or w.e
Do you mean Ken Watanabe? He's Japanese.
I agree it could be to mark him for a nuke, or some sort of super chemical weapon.
yeah i was talking about his character, DR..something with and S. i doubt its going to work. i really hope we get another trailer that explains some more things in detail, because this last one didnt really show much.
I sadly think he will die in some superficial way. Everything I know about american film structuring and formula, you don't leave the monster alive at the end unless its in some cryptic, odd way.
Thus why I say he'll die in a superficial way. In other words, he'll seem dead, but won't actually be.
If that makes any sense.
And anyone who thinks Godzilla dieing means no sequel... I mean c'mon people... Godzilla dies and comes back as a passtime. Its what he does.
i think an ending like that at the end of the second hobbit would be nice, everything seems to be going well, the hero seems to have won and the BOOM everything suddenly falls apart and you see this OH CRAP look on all the characters faces. its a great way to end a film like this, especialy because it leaves it open to a sequel. also,it looks like this godzilla will, among other things, represent natures true power and so will be something that puts man in his place, such an ending would fit this quite well.

Elizabeth Olsen has said not to expect a happy ending with this movie. That should tell us all something right there...
