Will they call Godzilla "Godzilla" in the 2014 film?

IDK if its a spoiler but i may warn you *SPOILER*

everyone thinks that the mutos are godzilla because they are so big, but when he shows up everyone is shocked that such a lifeform exsits.

My theory: maybe some japanese fishers were atacked by something and they say it was the ancient gojira, like they explained in that one szene from 1954 where they were dancing in the night. It also could be possible that ken watanabe (serizawa) explains what that giant dinosaur like creature is because he met him long time ago (maybe an gojira atack where he was a little kid)

I think the fisherman legend idea is probably what they'll do. lol

So probably will use Gojira.  Pobably some hill billy American will call him Gozilla!

im kind of hoping for something more creative when they come up with the name

i thinck they wont call him godzilla until the last half or even third of the movie. they will brobably have some kind of codename for him at first, of course godzilla could be a code name that they base off of some myth from small islands in the pacific. this would definetly echo the original, i think it would be a cool way to introduce the name.

i doubt its going to be that whole nautilas thing, for some reason that sounds like a codname that they would give titanosaurus or one of those kaiju.

still think a relief effort will come a godzilla tsunami and some old asian guy will say gojira and a sterotypical texan will say godzilla

i think they will have the name godzilla in the middel of the movie.

So now that you've heard our thoughts, what about yours? How do you think they should go about bringing up the name "Godzilla"?

Given that this is a reboot and not a remake, I highly doubt they'll use the same island legend concept as used in the original Gojira film. They'll likely have something completely new for him, through a throwback to '54 Gojira would be nice in some way. There will likely be quite a few nods to that film throughout the movie, but as for Godzilla's name? It's up for grabs at this point. We know absolutely nothing about how his name will be revealed, and I actually prefer it that way. Let the mystery continue. Don't try to solve it right now. You'll take the fun out of it if you keep trying to guess the answers.

I like the fishermen legend idea as well. I think the military will give him a codename (probably 'Nautilus'?).

@BCROCKETT94 I believe that Godzilla will be a legend among men already when the movie starts. I've heard rumors this film will continue the mythology of the original 1954 Godzilla so they'll most likely get his name from the legends of "the monster from Japan" or something of that nature. I just hope they say his name and not try what Man of Steel did with Superman's name, it's annoying as heck and saving it for the last 20 minutes made it seem kinda pointless. "Superman sir, that's what they're calling him". Like really?

What if at the first sighting of Gojira Japan sends a warning message to America about what they could be facing after reading about a giant creature sighting in the world news. I'm sure the stories will be linked in some sort of way to give Gojira fans what they want!
