GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-11-2013 11:57 PMHas anyone been wondering if these muto creatures may at least be based of of destroyah, they sound very remenisiant of his aggerate form to me. plus Dr.Serizawa is invloved, and considering at least a small part of the film is set in 1954 there is a 60 year gap that something like destroyah could likely develop in. another point is that destroyahs various forms would expain the "winged muto". personally, i hope that legendary is keeping destroyah, or at least something like him, a secret, kind of like kahn in star trek into darkness. also Destroyah gets a different response from other kaiju on the MUTO site. what are your thoughts?

I am 100% with you on this one. I believe a lot of people have ignored this one. So many things point to this being the creature he is going to battle. It was by far one of my favorite battles within the Toho realm. Thank you for paying attention to detail!
The only thing that doesn't complete our argument is the MUTO pictures at those pits.
What do you think?
well origionally, destroyah started out as prehistoric microscopic organisms in the ocean, but was then mutaded, pherhaps something similar will happen, only this time the creatures orgionate in a subtteranian enviroment and are obviously not microscopic. this is backed up by all the stuff on the MUTO site about incubation, embryos, and so on. thats my theory anyway, i'm sure more will be revealed as time goes on.

I feel like "simmiliar" is the key word here. Gareth said this was all new monsters. He never said the new monsters couldnt refference older monsters.
I get where you are coming from here Zillahater. That's a very good point that needs more clarity. Is it for certain that its gonna be a completely new monster Godzilla is facing? I would definitely like to see a creature similar to Destroyah. Its a very good enemy and its evolutions within the movie really connect with the new Godzilla movie information and trailers.
@CODIEC - You seem to have missed something important.
Destoroyah was based on a non-existent life form and created entirely for what was initially going to be Godzilla's final bow. It was a life form based on a crustacean, but not one that actually ever existed. Destoroyah is an entirely fantasy based creature, and this new gritty and realistic take has no room for such open use of fantasy outside of suspending our disbelief that Kaiju could even exist.
Another thing is that there is nothing that points to Destoroyah being in this film. Absolutely nothing. There is no oxygen destroyer. There is no strange microscopic crustacean that we yet know of. There is no reason to believe that all of the M.U.T.O creatures are based on insects or crustaceans. How about a bird? How about another lizard? How about a mammal? We know absolutely nothing about the M.U.T.O's other than one being multi-limbed and one having wings. That is not enough to say with any kind of certainty that they HAVE TO be insects or crustaceans.
All of your "evidence" pointing to Destoroyah is entirely circumstantial and coincidental. Taking such loose evidence as fact is the sign of a fool, and I don't think you're a fool. Over analyzing things and jumping to conclusions? Yes. But not a fool.
@"GODZILLA HIMSELF" - Also, Destoroyah gives the "cannot confirm or deny the existence of this life form." EVERY monster provides that exact same response save for King Monster Zero and Monster X which provide something akin to "this natural phenomenon is heading your way." If anything, There is something akin to or at least remeniscent of one of those two incarnations of Ghidorah that will appear in the movie.
Destoroyah is obviously not going to appear, nor will any of the M.U.T.O's likely be based off of it.
If Destroyah is going to happen as a sequal, I think it would be great to bring ALL mutation freak into battle, like Biollante, Angurius, Titanosaurus, Megaguirus, Kumonga, Kamacuras, Hedorah, King Caesar, Krystalak, Bagan, Obsidius, Zilla, Manda, and Gezorah.
This would bring a good point of these creatures's origin that was created by an accident through a lab attack.
KYERO I,m not saying that destroyah will for sure be in the movie, i am just stating a possability that at least ONE of the creatures may at least be based off him, im sure there will be a great variety to these muto things. also, considering that this is a reboot, i would never expect him to have the exact same ogigins. basically heres what i think. 50% there wil be absolutely nothing even close to destroyah, 30% that there will be something at least reminscant or similar to destroyah, 15% something will be actually based on him, and 5% that he would actually be included in the movie. as far as king ghidorah goes, its an awesome kaiju, one of the best, but i doubt any three headed dragons will be presnt, at least not for the first film, and the same could be said of destroyah, or really any other toho kaiju. also, monster X/0 could be what they initally call Godzilla in this move. you are right of course, that we are all assuming too much. for now all we can really do is specualte. if one of these kaiju is in it, great! if both inspire something, even better! but well just have to wait and see. btw, i admire your logic, i didn't thinck using the japanese version of destroyah, destoroyah, would make a difference, plus you make excellent arguments!
