(SPOILER?) Upsetting scene that Gareth had mentioned?

I think that Joseph Brody (Bryan Cranston) will be forced to watch his wife, Sandra Brody (Juliette Binoche), be killed off by something.

Here’s my reasoning.

In the third video, we see a horrified Joe Brody, covering his mouth. Then there’s a quick over the shoulder shot (in which we still see Cranston covering his mouth in horror), and we see an unhappy Binoche behind a shut, windowed door.

Now, why do you think Cranston looks terrified? Why does Binoche look unhappy/scared? It should be obvious that Binoche is going to die in this scene.

Gareth Edwards has stated that there was going to be a very emotional scene between Cranston and Binoche, could this be it?

Yeah, I've been thinking about that too. It looks likely that she'll be die somehow and it looks to be a very emotional scene. Those two are some of the best actors in the world right now, so I'm sure it's going to be pretty heartbreaking. If Godzilla has something to do with it it could be a very personal battle for the Brody family against him. Damn, I'm getting more excited about this movie as days go by.

They wouldn't use a scene that implies Godzilla's death in viral marketing. XD @Goji2014

I didn't say that Cranston dies, but what in the hell makes you so sure that Cranston's character lives? Have you seen the movie? None of the videos released have implied anything about Cranston's character's fate.  Either way, I was referring to Binoche's character, SANDRA BRODY, not JOE BRODY! SANDRA BRODY DIES FOR SURE!

I agree. I think it's going to be absolutely heart wrenching, and I hope it is. I would love to see such an emotionally gripping scene in a Godzilla film. @gman2887

@BCRockett94

Agreed. Everyone's screaming and cryin "Godzilla this" "Godzilla that", but this isn't going to be a movie that has 120 minutes of Godzilla screentime. It's been said over and over that the characters are very important and it's going to be a character driven Godzilla film-- All of the best Godzilla movies had a really strong cast of characters and I don't think we've seen that in a Godzilla movie since the 1960s. I can't wait to see Cranston back in action.

Are those two shots really in the same scene? Trailers have a way of editing it so that it seems connected when they could be from different scenes. To me it looks like she's hiding getting away from someone. Hard to see what the man has but for some reasons I keep thinking it's a blade, like someone's trying to kill her? I DON'T KNOW, I JUST DON'T WANT TO SEE ELIZABETH'S OLSEN CHARACTER DIE (even if i know nothing about her character lol) </3

Look regardless if a spoiler is real or not I think from here until the movie comes out we should refrain from spoiling any part of the movie for anyone. Because please realize there's books coming out before the movie that explain everything and stuff like that so in terms of merchandising and viral marketing stuff for the film, let's NOT spoil anything for anyone. Even if you put SPOILER in the title, it's tempting.

Instinctive Gigan, as much as I hate to say this... wait, I don't hate saying this... that's not my problem. If you can't help but press a button, the problem isn't mine to deal with. The only person you've got to blame is yourself.

Knightbatman, I think they are part of the same scene. You can see part of Cranston's hand over his mouth in the over the shoulder shot.

Max, are you following me around on the internet? I've said something very similar on a different site yesterday, or way early this morning.

My 1 pet peeve about Godzilla movies is even when he is supposed to be viewed as bad he never actually kills a main character that I'd be attached to.

If she does die it NEEDS to be Godzilla that is the reason behind it. This is the only thing that could possibly make the audience root against Godzilla is to see a character we've gotten attached to killed by him.

Why does anyone want Godzilla to be responsible for her death? Are you guys really that much of puppy kickers?

I have a feeling if she does, or he dies, its because of radiation or something like that.

He is 350ft Tall people, those things on his neck ARE gills, and the Brazil photo is part of the final advertising design-- Deal with it.

I agree with your stated pet peeve, DURP004, that annoyed me too. He's killed a main characters friend in a bit of stock footage, but that was about it.

Godzilla should be viewed as the lesser of 2 evils, HOWEVER he should still be viewed as a threat with people wanting humans to come out on top

This normally isn't done right in Godzilla movies with people always wanting Godzilla to be the winner no matter who he fights, be it people or monsters. The only time that you ever wanted humans to win was the first 1, and after that it's pretty much been all about Godzilla. To truly capture the feeling that humans are the good guys and need to win even Godzilla has to be shown doing something bad something that matters. Not destroying what are usually assumed to be emplty buildings or kills faceless people, some1 you know and actually grow attached to needs to be part of the destruction.

He doesn't have to be malicious, but a huge monster roaming around a city with characters you know and are close to the monster 1 will eventually get caught up in it it adds feeling and anticipation to the movie that isn't there when you know EVERY SINGLE MAIN CHARACTER will survive.

xxsaber, do you even know what an antihero is? An antihero could totally do something like that.

BCROCKETT i do no what a Antihero is a Antihero is a central Character In a story or movie or drama who lacks conventinal heroic Attributes and Godzilla could injured alot of people just by steping on them so yea one Character will die or not in the movie but who no,s

Gareth Edwards had used the term anti-hero incorrectly, so if that's what you're talking about... Anti-heroes can be evil personified.

Well Godzilla in the movie is going too be Evil and also the 2 monsters and the cast are the good guys so they maybe will try too survive Godzillas wrath. as for the Military they will use there weapons too kill Godzilla but some people dont get that godzilla cant die from weapons.

DURP004, I agree. I hope only a handful of main characters make it out, if that.

Yeah.... I think that's all he did too. I doubt he actually read what you had to say.

I honestly can't tell COFFEE what the hell you're trying to say, xxsaber. I feel that you just googled the TURKEY definition of anti-hero and just typed it into the reply CHINA box. An Anti-hero can easily kill off the main cast, especially CHRISTMAS if this anti-hero is the titular character. Because it seems that you still haven't fully grasped A HAM SANDWICH what the meaning of what an anti-hero is. BAGELS!
