However, with what we know so far, or have an "IDEA" regarding what this movie will be like, I believe that if it meets what we expect, it will push Godzilla further into pop culture. Let me explain, Godzilla started off as being a metaphor to the atomic bomb. From there, he continued on to being a hero which ultimately made him the most popular monster world-wide. Godzilla is not only an icon, but a cultures cinema mascot, let alone a mascot in general. The new generations are FAMILIAR with the name, and some actually know due to their parents, but many are less informed to the character while some Americans figure the 98 is the actual Godzilla. Personally, I belive this movie will show a dark, scary, yet realistic Godzilla. Probably one of the best adaptations of Godzilla yet. Similar to the 54. I also think it will be done the greatest way possible. And Godzilla will be taken seriously as a movie monster, and hell, maybe even become more popular than he ever has. Besides that, I feel like this will be the "Dark Night" of monster movies. And will hopefully spark kaiju movies back into play. All we get are zombie, vampire etc now-a-days. Which those are great too. Its just monster movies have such a classic feeling, you know? In my opinion, this Godzilla will be haunting and sad. Destructive and scary. It will show the true devastation and death it would cause. Just as if a monster were to really exist. Or, how it CAN be from us as human beings to continue our lust for power. Ya I may sound dramatic, then again Godzilla is more than a character.
