I was browsing some news, both in Godzilla; deep sea; and other and found this real life "Lovecraftian" species...

I know the deep sea is home to bizarre (at least to us) "monsters", but this one is certainly the freakiest one I've ever seen. What abilities should this think (kaiju-fied) have to really threaten Godzilla? It should be something both realistic and befitting the deep sea (traits not seen elsewhere).

dude that is an awesome idea maybe they can be a parasite on godzilla and be mutated with kinda like cloverfield in a way that would also exsplain why godzilla is bigger than them but it is only a theory

@KAIJUFALL3: A parasite for Kaijus... neat idea! For other monsters I can understand them being infected, but how could Godzilla be infected?

godzilla has been infected by parasites before. he had mutated sea louse in godzilla 1984. i do agree that this is a cool concept

I hadn't remembered Godzilla being infected before (then again I haven't seen all of the Gojira movies). What did the mutated sea louse do to Godzilla? Maybe we can modify/make realistic the concept for our creature here.

they were basically blood suckers that you would find on any animal. they didnt really affect him much. some fell of him when he attacked a ship and they attacked some members if i remember correctly. and bobbyboy68 i really think thats just a rumor. the real enemies are basically mutants nicknamed the mutos

BobbyBoy, THERE ARE NO ORIGINAL TOHO MONSTERS! IT HAS BEEN STATED MANY TIMES NOW.

FOR SCIENCE OF COURSE!

@BOBBYBOY68 - Hedorah is NOT in this film. It has been confirmed numerous times that Banno is working on a Godzilla vs. Hedorah sequel, but that idea did not make it into this 2014 film. That idea is its own project under Banno's watch, and this film is directed by Gareth Edwards, not Banno.

Hedorah is not in this film, nor did Banno ever say he was at any time. Misinterpretation of information is a waste of time and creates false rumors which circulate among fans and cause unecessary debates.

I think you're really onto something here with the deep-sea inspiration for the Mutos! It makes a lot of sense with what few descriptions we've been given. The "white" skin colour could be an attempt at describing a nearly transparent exoskeleton. To go further, anything entering the ocean (including toxic run-off) could eventually accumulate along the sea floor, hitting these critters right at their front doors. Based on the traingular heads that have also been mentioned in the infamous "airport scene", I thought these Phronima amphipods fit the bill pretty nicely...

What do you all think?

@METALJAZZFUNK: WOW! That Phronima amphipod looks cool, scary, and does indeed fit the bill of the Muto description! I hadn't even heard of it before you brought it up. Excellent find :)
