True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-04-2013 6:18 PMI was attempting to figure out the possible species of the Mutos in the 2014 Godzilla film. My going in facts that I was using to try and ID it were...
1: The folks who've seen the 2013 SDCC trailer describe it "spider-like".
2: The official toy descriptions (aka the pre-orders) also describe it with wings.
3: As a visual aid, I refereed to this fan art
I knew it wasn't a spider, for no spider has (nor need) wings. But we do have many insects that mimic other insects. I searched and searched and found this

It's called a "Spider Ant" (Leptomyrmex) and there are several members in this species. The queens are even winged! These bugs 'might' be our insect that got mutated into the Muto. It's the only thing (so far) that seems to fit the description.
