Apparently there's a hidden statue/maquette of Godzilla 2014 "Final design" in the Godzilla Encounter exhibit at SDCC. What do you guys think? Is this the final design? What do you think of it? Me, personally . . . . I'm not in to it, Yes! Gareth Edwards, it looks "real", believable, he is a dinosaur after all, but he's also a badass monster king, i can't see him fighting anything with those tiny arms, short tail, elephant feet and small head with little to no teeth . . . . I'm not evan sure if those "Broken glass" on his back will evan glow when he use his atomic breath, that is if he can evan do that of corse. But hay! what do i know right!

No, it's safe to say that is not the final design and i'm glad because it doesn't look great. This in no way resembles the one from the leaked encounter footage which is (many believe) to be Godzilla's final design.

The head looks a lot like the one in the leaked Godzilla Experience footage (search Youtube if you have not seen it). That's a real weird pose though.

To me, this looks completely different than the leaked Godzilla Encounter footage. It's likely just a concept design that wasn't approved.

And Gareth Edwards and crew aren't solely responsible for the final Godzilla design. They wanted a design approved by Toho. And Toho approved of whatever their final design was. Toho said it was true to Godzillas roots.

One thing I like in the Godzilla designs we've seen is that they mix a classic Godzilla with a more real world skin texture, much like Stan Winston had done. The maquettes and Encounter CGI we've seen look like a mix of the Always 2 Godzilla, alligator & lizard textures, the '54 Godzilla spike arrangement and Godzilla 2000 type shapes to the spikes. I'm glad that they look like G2K in silhouette only and have a flatter, bone look than the crystals.
