AdminSpaceGodzillaMay-03-2013 12:00 AMGodzilla's new design for Godzilla 2014 remains a mystery. All we have to go by are the fan renderings which some have attempted to create based on the one and only officially released still of the Monster himself:

Granted, it's hard to divert too far from the classic look of Godzilla, but still fans are meticulous about every detail - legs too big, neck too fat, spikes need to be a certain shape, face needs to not resemble an iguana, etc...
To us hard core fans, the look of Godzilla is extremely important. We have put our faith in the creative team at Legendary to honor the classic Monster which kick started an entire genre of films back in 1954. Godzilla 2014 will be a testament to every Godzilla film which came before it and the groundwork for any to follow. So, there's a lot riding on it. One of the primary concerns fans have are about the look of Godzilla himself.
My question is, do you think Godzilla's new design should remain a secret? Or do you think Legendary should, at some point down the viral marketing road, release what the big G looks like in Godzilla 2014?
Personally I would like to see what he looks like in this new film. But at the same time, I want there to be some (good) surprises when I go see the film on May 16th of next year. So, it's a tough call, at least for me, whether or not I think the studio should show off the new Godzilla design.
