I think that IDW and GMK got a lot less credit then they derseved here. As for IDW, we have to remember Godzilla in Hell. Here he is shown to be especially resilient, even with most of his powers stripped from him, he was shown to be remarkably powerful. As for GMK, he is one of the only ones who has died on screen, and the second to "come back". The first being Zilla '98 in Godzilla the Animated Series.
