Is Shin-Gojira a resurrected fossil?

Hello there.

Over the last few months, we have seen a vast plethora of new images detailing the upcoming Shin-Gojira - and I must say that I am ecstatic! Yet the most compelling thought running through my mind centers on the tip of Gojira's tail. It looks like a fossil. This bit of information causes me to think back to the original 1954 Gojira, in which it is stated that he has been resurrected by the atom bomb. Could it be that nuclear testing jump-started the few remaining bits of living DNA held within the fossilized remnants of some unknown and ancient creature? If so, is Shin-Gojira's hideous and malformed appearance the product of faulty regeneration carried-out by reawakened cells that no longer function properly as a result of nuclear restart? As always, your thoughts and conjecture are most appreciated, even if you choose to keep them to yourself. :)

I have a theory that he survived the oxygen destroyer, which is why he is a) bigger, and b) red. Btw, did you get my PM?

Your theory of nuclear testing triggering some kind of activation of G-cell could hold up. I recall Gojira being reduced to nothing but bones when the Oxygen Destroyer was unleashed on him, but perhaps some flesh remained and could then regenerate. It's been the going consensus among most G-Fans ever since the first set photos leaked. So, I would say your theory has some weight to it, for sure.

I know Godzilla Resurgence will be its own film but how cool would it be if this Godzilla was actually Burning Godzilla after he regenerated? We all know Godzilla cannot really die unless the oxygen destroyer, lava, and the meltdown. But that would explain why he is deformed and still has the red patches all over him, but it is just my imagination.
