I sure hope it does, but I somehow doubt it.

I think the best route to go is what FUNimation is doing with Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F.

It may not recieve a wide theatrical release because, A) it would be hard to sell to a western audience and B) depending on who distributes it in America, particularly WB/Legendary, a limited release would keep any confusion between it and Godzilla 2 down to a minimum.

Besides, a limited release at specialty/art theaters would ensure that whoever distributes it can just focus on selling it to the fans-- Instead of worrying about the impossible task of appealing to the close-minded majority.

As long as it makes its way to DVD or iTunes in America, I don't care. I would still like to see it on the big screen, but if not, then what I said before.

Seeing Godzilla on the "big screen" is something everyone should experience. Art or specialty house screenings are the best because the audience is made up almost entirely of geeks and fans. I saw this at several screenings of Millennium Era Godzilla films presented by American Cinemateque at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. It was not just the spectacle of Godzilla on a giant screen with a first class sound system. It was more. The atmosphere was electric. Even waiting in line was enjoyable because of the buzz in air while anticipating seeing the film (s). At one of the screenings of the Kiryu Saga i.e., Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Godzilla X Mothra X Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., Director Masaaki Tezuka was the special guest. He spoke in between the films and enjoyed the evening like any other fan.

So, a theartical run for Toho Godzilla 2016, especially in art and specialty houses, would be much appreciated by this fan. I've seen the likes of it, and it's special.
