As most of you know, last summer at G-FEST, fans were treated to the now legendary, Rondo Award Nominated concert Ifukube 100: A Legacy of Monster Music, thanks to the help of Kickstarter and hundreds of backers (myself included)! The concert was an experience that changed lives, and it seemed that it nothing that awesome would ever happen again.
Well, guess what…
IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN!!!!!!!!
John DeSentis and Chris Oglio, the two guys behind the Ifukube concert, have launched a new Kickstarter campaign for a NEW concert to be held this year at G-FEST!!!! This time, the goal is bigger, and so is the event…
Introducing SYMPHONIC FURY: THE MUSIC OF JAPANESE MONSTERS!
If successful, the new concert will showcase the American premier of the COMPLETE Akira Ifukube Symphonic Fantasia!!!! That’s right, three movements of music from the Godzilla movies, plus War of the Gargantuas, King Kong Escapes, Battle in Outer Space, Varan, The Mysterians, Frankenstein Conqueres the World… and more!!!!
But that’s not all they have planned… if the concert is funded, it will feature in its first half… the monster music of the one and only KOW OTANI!!!! The music of the man who scored the Heisei Gamera Trilogy and GMK (2001) has never been performed EVER, not even in Japan! This will be the WORD PREMIER!!!! Otani-San is working with the creators to create the suites for the concert, and as a stretch goal for the Kickstarter campaign, he will be brought to the concert as the Guest of Honor… if they get the extra funding!
If this doesn’t get you excited beyond words, I don’t know what possibly could. Please consider donating to the campaign by going here and checking out the goals, rewards, and other incentives to give these guys your money! Please help spread the word so these guys can put on the show of a lifetime… a musical showdown between Godzilla and Gamera in Concert!!!!
So what do you think?!?! Does this make you incredibly excited? Will you donate? Will you plan on going? Discuss, donate, and spread the word!!!! :D
