why does everyone like jet jaguar ?

ok for some reason when i watched godzilla vs megolon i thought that jet jauguer was kinda stupied and had a lame theme song but than i saw everyone was super excited when he came to rulers of earth and godzilla ps3 so why does everyone like him it might just be me but he seems like a ultraman ripoff and has stinky powers and is weak and was added to the movie as a afterthought
